Getting Along

Wow, though it is only 1pm, the kids have been playing together amazingly well today. The screaming has defiantly been at a minimum today. They played dress-up together this morning.

Then after our shopping trip to Kohl's, where I got Sage a ADORABLE dress. They played "baby", and as I type they are racing cars through the house, together. I know they love each other, but the fighting, oh the fighting, it drives me crazy!

They even got along at the car show at the Mohawk on Saturday. They played in the car, pretending to drive. We all rode together as a family in the newly "almost finished" 57 Chevy. Which now sports some rockin' green flames. Too bad the car had 2o+ years of dirt in it that blew all over us as we drove, that was kinda gross. I'm soooo happy the car is almost done!...I really need jay to work on the upstairs. The kids really need their own rooms. I'm sick of tip-toeing around Ryder when he's asleep. Then there is the issue of Ryder attacking Sage when she's trying to sleep....grrr.

Sunshine and Tacos...YUP

Finally some summer weather, to bad it's supposed to rain tomorrow...again...oh well. Sage and Ryder enjoyed relaxing in the "Dino pool". I took on the awful challenge of weeding my backyard, I swear my yard has more prickly weeds than I ever imagined was possible. My fingers hurt, and my arms itch, I defiantly don't enjoy the whole "gardening thing", no, not a fan.
Ryder is at the "random word repeating" stage, and enjoys his new word "Ta-Co", which apparently means not only means taco, but "towel" also. Sage asked him if he was a taco, to which he first seemed offended by, but then responded with a grinning "YUP"(his new favorite word).

My Little Model

Well Sage had her 3rd photo shoot at fisher-price today. I had to work, so Daddy took her. She really enjoys going, I think she likes all the attention. Her previous shoots were with the "Grand Loving Family Dollhouse", which she unfortunatly didn't get used for, at least not yet. This time she got to pose with a "Wonder Pets Phone". Jay says they asked her if she liked the Wonder Pets, and her response was, "No, they are not my favorite"...lol...at least she was polite. She got to wear purple, and they did her hair in pigtails with hairclips. I guess, even though she doesn't care for the Wonder Pets, she did well. The photographer made her laugh, so she didn't have her squinty fake smile. I hate how you don't get to keep the picture or even take any for that matter....oh well, I'm sure she was cute. :)

Rainbows, Butterflies, Flowers...and the color Lellow

Ask Sage what she loves, and that's your answer. (Of course we can't forget white and chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles). I get the greatest joy from watching her personality blossom. I'm so proud of the person she's becoming. Looking at life through her eyes, you really learn to enjoy the simple things, like flowers blooming, and rainbows reflecting on walls. She is so animated in her random conversation, you can't help but smile.

Ryder The Destroyer

So, I think I need to find a hobby, because bargain shopping as a hobby gets expensive pretty fast...lol. I don't go to Old Navy every week anymore, so I guess I'm saving there. I did find some great stuff at Target today, but failed to get the dog food that I needed. Not my fault though, Ryder has been so bad lately at stores, it throws off my whole game plan. He climbs out of the seat part of the cart, even when it's buckled, and he fearlessly climbs out of the cart part, I can't win. If you put him down he runs and starts destroying the store, and if you try to hold him he flails and throws a fit. I really hope he gets over this stage soon, it's making shopping no fun. I did get Ryder(not that he deserves it) and Sage some cool toys for Birthdays and Christmas, not that they need them, but oh well.

Ryder's mischievous nature is just evolving as time passes. I've had to re-arrange my furniture because he moves it to climb on the counters, stove, etc. And nothing is "safe" unless it is on a shelf taller than me. Last week he got Jay's new laptop out of the case, proceeded to plug it in, open it up, and turn it on....Also the same week he destroyed my cookie brownies that were cooling on the stove....grrr. I've come to know though, the quieter he is, the more trouble.

Thank God he is still the HAPPIEST little guy, always giving smiles and giggles 24/7. I love the kid like crazy, but he is nuts!

My first "Blog"

Well, You'd think by this day in age that everyone has a "blog", well, not me, come on, I got my first cell phone this year, and don't own a Ipod yet. Guess I spend my extra time and money on the kids. Which is actually the reason I wanted to start this, for the kids, so they can reflect on their lives, and we can relive the memories. I am amazed at how much the way my parents raised me affects how I raise my kids. It's not so much the disipline I'm talking about, but the "involvement factor". My parents have no art projects from when I was a kid and very limited photos, and God knows they don't remember any milestones or acheviements I might have made. I don't know if it has to do with the fact that I grew up in a large family or what, but I am determined to be very active in my kids lives, in their childhood, and hope to be a good friend to them in their adulthood.

So.....this is life.
